Kate's olympic spirit

With the London being the center of the world these days, the British are proud to share the best of their culture. And closets.
Duchess Kate has made so many appearances that is hard to follow, so here is a quick guide to every Olympic-related appearance, but don’t think it’s finished, I’ll be adding new pictures every time she’ll be spotted wearing something new.
In march she went to play hockey with the British Olympic team (she was the team’s captain in college), with coral leggings and a blue blazer and high heels, which she changed for a pair of adidas and a grey hoodie to play.

Fast forward to Thursday, and she was wearing  a dress by Hobbs (just £35) and wedges by Pied a terre.

And later on the same day, the royal family (dressed with official Adidas team GB apparel (designed by Stella McCartney) greeted the torch at Buckingham palace. Kate wore leggings again, this time in blue and they happen to be Zara’s (£13!!) with an official white polo and Stuart Weitzman cork black wedges.

She chose a Christopher Kane to the reception of Heads of State hosted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace. She wore the same dress to the Opening Ceremony.

She didn't make any appearances until Monday (when Mexico won its first medal btw). She atended an equestrian event with Princes William and Harry, Camilla and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. She wore a navy Smythe blazer and her Team GB polo with a pin with the London 2012 logo and very delicate pearl earrings (nice touch!)

Later on the same day, Kate went to a reception at the Royal Academy, for the GREAT campaign, which you should seriously follow to get the whole UK magic. Among the attendants was also Stella McCartney. The duchess wore a recycled Roksanda dress (beautiful piece!), she had worn it when she arrived to Los Angeles last year; for shoes she chose nude LK Bennett's. Her purse and earrings remain unidentified.

On Tuesday she kept her blazer and the pearls for the equestrian event to cheer on Zara Phillips, the Queen's granddaughter. Also, navy pants and a classic sleeveless stripped top with the black wedges she's been wearing all these days. And when it started raining, she was ready to cover with her team GB jacket by Adidas and Stella.

Photos from What Kate wore
She started the next day on a blue Stella McCartney dress to watch a tennis match (supporting Andy Murray of course) and she was caught doing the MEXICAN wave:

After that, she went to some events wearing Team GB Adidas polos, but the next important outfit was chosen to visit the Team GB house, where she wore a red Zara jacket, Zara jeggings and a polka dot top whose designer remains unknown. Of course she added the Stuart Weitzman cork black wedges that I love.

To bring good luck to the girls from the hockey team, she went to watch them play against New Zealand. She wore a sleeveless white Team GB top and white skirt.

For the closing ceremonies she chose a dress from ASOS showing that she can look amazing in cheap pieces, even when the Prime Minister is at her side.

For the Paralympic opening ceremonies, keeping the same strategy from all the Games events, she chose to repeat a coat from 2006, designed by DAY Birger et Mikkelsen.

For the discus medal ceremony, she wore a Pucci blazer, a scarf from the Paralympics, cork wedges, and probably a dress (instead of a skirt).

She chose to keep it simple, let the press talk and focus on the athletes and their achievements instead of her clothing, she was there to support, not to steal the attention. A very smart woman considering she saved a lot of money on the two events where the spotlights were upon her: her marriage and the Olympics.
So on Tuesday I just felt inspired enough, I finished some sewing projects and decided to share with you my first outfit picture (I'll post it complete tomorrow as I finished a little late to take enough good photos. Top and skirt by me, vintage pearl necklaces, and the ballerinas are from somewhere in Paris.
